GHRP-2 is a synthetic hexapeptide that belongs to the family of Growth Hormone Releasing Peptides (GHRPs). It is a potent agonist of the ghrelin receptor (also known as the Growth Hormone Secretagogue Receptor, GHS-R1a) and is widely studied for its ability to stimulate the secretion of growth hormone (GH) from the anterior pituitary gland.
Unlike growth hormone–releasing hormone (GHRH) analogs, GHRP-2 does not mimic natural GHRH.
