Human Menopausal Gonadotropin (HMG) is a purified complex of naturally occurring gonadotropins, primarily containing follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH) in varying proportions. It is typically extracted from the urine of postmenopausal women, where gonadotropin concentrations are elevated due to the decline in ovarian function.
